InterConneX 2.0.1 is a minor update that includes better support for user-specified Dynamic Type font sizes and fixes a handful of bugs. This update is recommended for all users.
New Design/Interface
InterConneX gives you two view options. The first view option is with a sidebar displaying a list of all your sharespaces. Press on a sharespace to see the files and folders contained. The second view option is without the sidebar to get a full screen view of any sharespace.
Cloud Services
Create a sharespace that connects directly to a cloud service. Currently there are four new sharespace types: Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud Storage and SFTP with more on the way!
Split View/Slide Over
In Slide Over, InterConneX for iPad can ‘float’ above the app you are presently using. Split View is similar except both apps appear side-by-side. Here it is being used in conjunction with Safari. You can control the size of each apps’ ‘pane’ by dragging the divider that separates them.
Drag and Drop
InterConneX for iPad fully supports drag and drop. To initiate a drag and drop session, select the icons as normal, then initiate a long press. The selected icons will eventually “lift.” You can then drag them to other folders, sharespaces and, on the iPad, even other apps!
iPad version
Apple recently introduced a new version of iOS for iPads. InterConneX is designed specifically to take advantage of the iPad’s larger screen making it easy to control your files and folders.
Keyboard Support
On an external keyboard, hold COMMAND down when viewing a sharespace to see what context-sensitive commands are available. Your iPad just got a lot easier to control!
Open Documents from a Sharespace
Apps that support editing-in-place can open a document stored in a sharespace and modify the document in the sharespace itself. This includes remote sharespaces, so you can edit documents that are not stored on your device.
New Document Templates
To make document creation inside a sharespace more seamless, InterConneX for iPad offers support for creating blank documents from templates. Templates for Pages, Keynote and Numbers are provided by default. You can also create your own templates by selecting a file and invoke the same “New Document” function. This gives you the option of using the selected file as a blank template for future documents.
