With InterConneX, you can create a sharespace to store files so that you can store and organize files and folders in one location on an iPhone or iPad. In addition to managing and storing files, InterConneX allows you to share your files and folders between other iPhones or iPads running InterConneX and Macs running ChronoSync or ChronoAgent.
Configure
With InterConneX you store, organize, and work with all your files in a sharespace. Think of a sharespace as a container that stores your files just like a hard drive. You can create as many sharespaces as you’d like provided you have enough storage space on your device. Sharespaces are private, meaning only YOU have access to them but you can optionally publish a sharespace to be accessible to other InterConneX users on your network.
5 TYPES OF SHARESPACES
Local Private – A private sharespace stores files that only you can access on your device.
Local Public – A public sharespace stores files and share them with other iPhones, iPads and Macs. Don’t worry you can password protect it!
Remote – A remote sharespace accesses files with a public sharespace on other iPhones and iPads running InterConneX.
ChronoAgent – A ChronoAgent sharespace accesses files with a Mac running ChronoAgent.
Cloud – A cloud sharespace connects to a cloud service. InterConneX features direct cloud support for Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Backblaze, and SFTP. We are adding more cloud services in the future.
Your new sharespace is ready to use simply by tapping its name from the list of available sharespaces. Should you decide to change its name, size or any one of several options, editing its configuration is a simple matter of tapping “Edit” and selecting the sharespace you wish to modify.
ICONS, LISTS AND MORE
You interact with files and folders in InterConneX by simply tapping on them to select, then invoking an action or tool upon the selection. A variety of selection options make it easy to multi-select items or select a range of items.
NEW DOCUMENT
Create any number of blank documents from templates to add to a sharespace. Templates for Pages, Keynote and Numbers are provided by default.
NEW FOLDER
Specify a name and create a folder in which you can place additional files and folders.
NEW GROUP
Specify a name and create a folder in which the selected files and folders are automatically placed.
RENAME
Specify a new name for the selected file or folder.
COPY
Copy the selected files and folders to another folder in the current sharespace or in a different sharespace. The destination can be local or remote.
MOVE
Move the selected files and folders to another folder in the current sharespace or in a different sharespace. The destination can be local or remote.
DUPLICATE
Make a duplicate copy of the selected files and folders at their current location. Duplicates are given a unique name.
COMPRESS
Create a ZIP archive containing the selected files and folders.
EXPAND
Expand the contents of any selected ZIP archive files.
DELETE
Permanently delete the selected files and folders.
Tools are a little more involved than simple actions. Think of them as “mini apps” within InterConneX. Interacting with them is the same, however – simply tap on the desired set of files and folders then invoke the desired tool from the Tools menu.
MORE INFO
Display more attributes of the selected items.
Many document types can be sent directly to an AirPrint compatible printer directly within InterConneX.
QUICK LOOK
Preview the contents of a wide variety of document types on screen.
Package up the selected files and send them as an email attachment. You can even choose to ZIP compress your attachments.
ADD TO PHOTOS
If you’ve selected photo or videos files, you can add them directly to your Photos library. Great for grabbing someone else’s photos/videos from a remote sharespace!
COPY FROM PHOTOS
Displays a thumbnail browser showing the contents of your Photos library. Select the desired photos and/or videos to be copied into the current sharespace.
DOWNLOAD FILE
Have a url to an internet resource (graphic, sound file, etc)? This tool allows you to download it directly into the current sharespace.
IMPORT
Displays a Document Picker allowing you to import a file from an external storage space to a sharespace.
EXPORT
Displays a Document Picker allowing you to export a file from a sharespace to an external storage space.
PASTEBOARD
View copied content on a Local or Global Pasteboard.

IT'S NICE TO SHARE
SHARE WITH YOURSELF
Your iPad and iPhone have limited space so it’s unlikely that you can put all the files on your Mac onto them. InterConneX solves this problem and gives you a direct connection to your Mac so you can access any file on your Mac and copy it over to your device.
SHARE WITH SOMEONE ELSE
If you need to share some files with someone else, you could email the files to them but that is quite a hassle. With InterConneX running on an iPhone or iPad, you can share files directly between devices.
SHARE BETWEEN A GROUP
Your coworkers are all working on a project together. Some have iPhones, some have iPads and some have Macs. With InterConneX on the iPhones & iPads and ChronoAgent running on the Macs, everyone can share files directly with each other.
SHARE WITH A MAC SERVER
If you need to share files between iPhones & iPads and one central repository, then the combination of InterConneX and ChronoSync can handle that. Install ChronoSync on the Mac and InterConneX on all the iPhones & iPads. Now your Mac server will work just like a cloud service automatically synchronizing your files back and forth.
SHARE WITH OTHER APPS
InterConneX can access an online storage space, whether it be iCloud, DropBox, Box, OneDrive, Google Drive, or some other service, and share files between these storage spaces and its sharespaces.
NOBODY ELSE'S BUSINESS
Access to your local sharespaces can be restricted by simply limiting access to your device — either through passkey protection, fingerprint authentication or both. Using such a restriction to limit access to your sharespaces is not always practical, however, especially when the device is used in a shared environment (e.g. the family iPad). That is why InterConneX offers an additional layer of security for your sharespaces by optionally requiring an access code to view their contents and/or edit their configuration.
A four- or six-digit passcode is used for authentication. An alternate method is to use the fingerprint or face identity sensor. (This is only available on devices that have Touch or Face ID.)
Protection can be enabled on a per-sharespace basis so you can require different passcodes for different sharespaces. You can even mix unrestricted sharespaces with restricted ones!

SYNC YOUR MAC WITH YOUR SHARESPACE
Designate a folder on your Mac and an InterConneX sharespace as targets and let ChronoSync keep the files stored in both locations perfectly synchronized with each other.
SYNC YOUR SHARESPACE WITH ANOTHER SHARESPACE
Designate both targets to be InterConneX sharespaces and let ChronoSync keep the files stored on both devices perfectly synchronized with each other.
BACKUP YOUR SHARESPACE
Use ChronoSync to backup all the critical files in your sharespace to an external hard drive, memory stick, file server, cloud service or even an off-site location (via ChronoAgent).
BACKUP YOUR MAC
Critical files on your Mac can be backed up to your mobile device so you not only have data redundancy, you have that data wherever you go!
DO IT AUTOMATICALLY
You can configure ChronoSync to detect when your sharespace(s) join the network so that all of the above operations are performed automatically without you ever getting involved!
Use With ChronoAgent
FULL ACCESS TO MACS
In addition to connecting to other InterConneX sharespaces, you can also connect to any Mac that has ChronoAgent installed on it. Once connected to a ChronoAgent sharespace, you can access ALL files on the Mac for all user accounts. You can also take advantage of the massive data storage capacity (relative to your iDevice) of your Mac. You can even access your properly configured ChronoAgent over the internet, turning your Mac into your own private cloud.
CONNECT ON A LOCAL NETWORK
Connecting to a Mac running ChronoAgent will allow you to access any files on the Mac. This allows you to access files from your iPad or iPhone that are stored on a Mac. It could be your Mac or a Mac server. Check the ‘Sharing’ guide to learn how to connect to a computer via ChronoAgent.
CONNECT OVER THE INTERNET

Use With Cloud Services
Create sharespaces that directly access cloud services. Gain complete control over your files that are located in the cloud all in one location. You can manage your files directly from the cloud or download them to a Local sharespace on your iPhone or iPad. Control multiple cloud services all from one app.
Currently InterConneX features direct cloud support for Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Backblaze, and SFTP. We are adding more cloud services in the future.
Use With Other Apps
iOS provides a document interaction mechanism whereby apps can pass single documents between each other. Of course, InterConneX takes advantage of this.
Note: this works even for remote sharespaces — no need to copy documents over to your device before passing them to other apps!
The same iOS document interaction mechanism is used by InterConneX to receive documents from other apps. InterConneX can receive any document type so if another app can transfer it, InterConneX can store it in a sharespace.
InterConneX provides fine-grain control over where to place the document, when the transfer back to InterConneX occurs. It can even be stored in remote sharespaces allowing you to pass a Pages document back to your Mac, for instance.
On your iPad, you can transfer documents to/from other apps by taking advantage of the iOS multitasking options Slide Over and Split View. Here, the Pages app is a Slide Over on the InterConneX app.

CLOUDLESS
InterConneX connects directly to other devices so your files are never stored on another server. Cloud storage services store your files on their own systems and then download them to your devices.
DIRECT
You work directly with files & folders in a sharespace regardless of the source. You can import files from or export files to other apps or use QuickLook, Email & Print tools directly on files without the need to “Download” them to your device first.
RESTRICTED
You can create sharespaces specifically for sharing files with other users on other devices. You control who has access and what they see. Not all products offering device-to-device connectivity have this ability.
SECURE
Connections to remote InterConneX and ChronoAgent sharespaces utilize SSL encryption, so your transferred data is safe from prying eyes — a real concern when exchanging files in a public hotspot or unprotected network.
UNRESTRICTED
InterConneX can connect to a computer running ChronoAgent and have access to all volumes & files on that computer. Other apps typically connect via FTP or WebDAV and have very limited access.
PHOTO SHARING
InterConneX offers one of the easiest ways to transfer photos and videos between devices. Simply connect to a public sharespace on another device and choose “Copy from Photos” — it’s that simple!
MAC SAVVY
InterConneX recognizes and preserves macOS file types, attributes, resource forks and metadata whenever possible. Thus all attributes and metadata will be preserved when copying files between Macs and iOS devices.
CHRONOSYNC SAVVY
InterConneX fully supports ChronoSync, which can be used to automatically synchronize and backup files from your iPad or iPhone to your Mac and vice versa.
