ToggleINTRODUCTION
ChronoSync has a few preference settings that must be set correctly to allow scheduled syncs to run in the background and the ChronoSync Background Scheduler must be activated. Use the steps described below to verify that ChronoSync is configured to run scheduled syncs in the background.
RESOLUTION
- Verify that the ChronoSync Background Scheduler is enabled.
- Launch ChronoSync. Open the ChronoSync Preferences and choose the ‘Scheduler’ preference pane.
- Verify that ‘Use background scheduler’ and ‘Wake system to synchronize’ are enabled by placing a checkmark in the box next to each item.
- Switch to the ‘General’ preference pane. Verify that ‘Show ChronoSync menu in menubar’ is enabled by placing a checkmark in the box next to the item.
- This should result in a new icon being displayed in the system menu bar.
- Verify that the ChronoSync Background Scheduler is activated.
- Click the ChronoSync Menu in the system menu bar and check the status of the background scheduler by viewing the dimmed item at the top of the displayed menu. Does it show “ChronoSync Scheduler: Active”? If so, then ChronoSync is ready to run scheduled syncs in the background.
- If the dimmed item shows “ChronoSync Scheduler: Suspended”, then select the next menu item named “Resume Scheduler.” Now confirm that the scheduler is active as described above.
- Now test to verify that your scheduled syncs run as expected. If problems persist, then continue with the next steps in the Scheduled Sync Troubleshooting Guide.
