ChronoSync Express is a document-based application, which allows you to create one or more synchronizer tasks to define what files and folders will be synchronized or backed up and how those synchronizations/backups should be performed.
When ChronoSync Express launches, you’re greeted with the ChronoSync Express Organizer. Here you can create and edit multiple syncs and backups by taking advantage of one of the easy-to-use assistants or by manually creating your tasks, giving you more control over the options. All tasks are listed here for easy access. You can edit them, run them manually or schedule them for automated syncs and backups.
Synchronize
A synchronization takes two folders and makes them identical to each other. Any modification to a file in one folder will get copied to the other folder and vice versa. Synchronizations are useful when you have a set of documents that you want to work on in two places. The classic example is a desktop computer at work and a laptop computer that you take home. Synchronizations are also useful in work environments where a common set of files is shared on a server between multiple individuals.
Backup
Use a computer long enough and you WILL lose data. Whether it’s by accidental deletion, theft, fire, malicious act or hardware failure, data loss is one of the few guarantees in life. The only question is, how catastrophic will the loss be? Having a backup simply means that you have redundant copies of all your precious files. A backup takes a set of files and copies them to another location — an external hard drive, a remote file server, or both! An effective backup strategy ensures these copies are current and readily accessible. ChronoSync Express can be an effective component of that strategy!
